Definition of coil pottery
: a pottery common among American Indians made by building up sides of pots with successive rolls of clay

A basic coil pot was turned into a face pot!

Common mistakes when creating a coil pot:
*Not adhering the base to the first coil adequately enough
*Not connecting coils to each other!
*Not smoothing over cracked or uneven surfaces
*Using TOO much water to smooth over cracked or uneven surfaces- can cause explosions!
