amazing art supplies
I'm often asked to share my favorite art supplies. So I have decided to make a list of my absolute favorite recommended and/or most commonly used art media. I can definitely recommend each of these products as I have used them all, and would not post any products here that I do not use or approve of!
Art Journal/ Sketchbook/visual journal
Whatever you want to call it, it's your book. We tend to get very possessive and attached to our art journals! I have quite a few of them, and there is one for each purpose and price range! My favorite size for traveling and carrying around is a 5" x 8" journal. They fit easily in my purse and I can sit on a plane with this size or easily work in a waiting room if I want. I always like the hardbound books because I can decorate the cover, and I can open the book and work on a complete "spread" (or two facing pages) without having an annoying spiral in the way!
The other size is a "standard" 8.5" x 11" size journal. The Strathmore brand is a well recognized brand and this mixed media book has a lovely hard bound cover and has some lovely thick pages which will hold up to many types of media. I use mine during Inktober and the pen does not bleed through to the other side.

This Ranger's Dylusion's art journal is the smaller 5" x 7" size. The great thing about this one is the built in envelope/folder with a string tie, as well as the very sturdy cardboard cover and pages that hold up to paint, sprays, alcohol inks and more.

Faber Castell Creative Studio Gelatos Set-Iridescent 2
These soft and creamy art crayons have a lovely luminous iridescent shine to them which shows up beautifully on paper. The best part is that you can use them alone, as rich, pigmented crayons, or you can add water with a paintbrush and spread the luscious glimmering color around even more! They look amazing on watercolor paper, canvas, or in an art journal. These are on my current top five art media list.

MOD PODGE
This multi use concoction is an excellent water based sealer, glue and decoupage finish. I always like the gloss finish as it gives a shiny sheen to finished journal pages.

Ranger Calypso DYLUSIONS Shimmer Spray 1oz
YUMMY shimmer sprays add more dimension and pizazz to your project. These pearlescent inks can be sprayed onto a page- I use them on top of a base of newspaper or magazine print, then paint, then spray some ink on the page.

These Sakura 57452 Gelly Roll Classic 05 (Fine Pt.) 3pk Pens, White are also nice- I use the Uniball Signo and the Gelly pens. The ink is really white and opaque, and lovely for using on dark paint, paper or cards. You just have to remember not to use them on wet media, or anything too thick, as they will clog up.
