“The Art of Life” video about the life and tragic death of Dan Eldon

To kids in the world, I think he would have said “You may only dance a short time”, (his dance has been very short indeed) but he would have said “You choose your dance.  You dance proudly, you dance loudly, you dance with incredible spirit and creativity and life and joy, and especially you go out and dance with love.”

“We had about 10 torches, and the young people who had known Dan lit the torches and plunged them into the fire,  and one of Dan’s best friends said “This is to
commemorate the sparks that Dan lit in others.”

Kathy Eldon, Dan Eldon’s mother.

JOURNAL ASSIGNMENT:

Create a page or a spread in your journal that reflects on the video that we watched, the life and art of Dan Eldon, or any theme about sparks representing people, and how sparks can be ‘lit’ in others.  In other words- how do some people seem to touch us and make an impact in our life?   Reflect on how the video affected you. What did you think?  How did it make you feel?   Does Dan seem like the type of person you would like to have known?  Why?  Remember there is NO right answer for this.  Your craftsmanship and efforts to create a creative spread are what matters.  You may include writing, scraps, quotes, etc.
Be creative!  Basically, this prompt is asking you to create a work of art as a response to what you saw and learned about Dan Eldon, and to take any part of that response and make it visual!
