I like to think that there are no strangers, only friends that I haven't met yet!

I was born in Brighton, England and lived there for 5 years before my parents moved to Belgium.  I attended the same International school in Waterloo, Belgium from Kindergarten to 12th grade!  I went to college in Paris for nearly two years before moving to the US.

I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in Art History.  I also hold Art Education certification and a Master’s degree in Art Education from East Carolina University.  I am Nationally Board Certified.  I have taught online and face-to-face Art Appreciation courses for East Carolina University, Coastal Carolina Community College and the NC Virtual Public School.  I opened my art studio in January 2014; we offer art classes, parties and pottery classes for kids and adults.

I retired from teaching art in June 2020 after teaching for 30 years- 19 of them at Northside High School.  I was the last teacher to leave Northside who was there when the school opened in 2001!

I am an avid reader.  I also love to travel and explore new places.  I create using fused glass, ceramics, mosaics, and I also enjoy mixed media arts such as journaling, altered books and collage.  I can honestly and gratefully say that art is my passion. Below is a small collection of some of my favorite journal pages, paintings, doodlings, and mixed media pieces.

I am grateful for the chance to share my love of art with amazing people  <3

Did this one while getting my hair done- then did the "high school duck face selfie" pose!
