Create a mixed media collage on the theme of "Self"

FIRST- Go seeking inspiration
(To do this, you need to look at LOTS OF COLLAGES!)
Make notes in your art journal about your research explorations.
Answer the following questions:
1. What does the word collage mean? Look up several definitions and then compose your OWN definition.
2. Name three famous collage artists in history. What were they known for?
3. What are some important design elements to consider when creating a collage?
4. Make note of some of the elements from the links below that appeal to you. You might want to write down something interesting that you see that you may want to incorporate into your own work.
5. Watch the video below and make notes of each of the key points.

Next- begin gathering interesting papers, images, ideas for your collage. Think about symbols, images, papers, pictures and words that are meaningful to you. Begin cutting and tearing a collection of about 25 pieces of paper that you might want to use in your collage.
