IDIOMS
Assignment: Create a visual representation of an idiom.
Do NOT include the idiom in the artwork.
This column- all of the pictures below- are examples of the type of attention to detail I want you to adhere to.
This artwork has depth, layering, a nicely thought out composition, and illustrates the idiom "a little slice of heaven." The idiom is cleverly worked into the image in the design of the plate. You don't want to be too obvious in your use of the idiom if you choose to include it in your artwork.

This column- all of the pictures below- are examples of the too simplistic, trite work I'd like you to avoid.
This is clever, but it won't take long to complete a work of art like this. Your work needs to look as if you have spent 6 hours on it- 4 full class periods!
Your work should not be simple, trite, and obvious. That doesn't mean try to hide your meaning, but spend some time illustrating your idiom with maturity, humor, or depth and complexity.
