TEXTURE

Andy Goldsworthy

Look at the following sites and explore the photography, videos, and quotes.  Make notes Cornell style- ask questions that may occur to you and make sketches about designs that may appeal to you.  Make note of where on campus you may find some material to make your own Goldsworthy-inspired environmental work of art.  After reading about the artist, watching videos and reading some of his quotes, create your OWN work of art and then photograph it from several angles and include the images in your journal.

Materials:  What materials do we have around campus that you think you can use? What about around your neighborhood?
Journal Question: Do you think that Andy Goldsworthy is an artist?  Explain? What makes a photographer an artist?  Remember to put some reflections on your page- how did you feel about the art of Goldsworthy?  Did you enjoy the process?  How do you feel about your finished Goldsworthy-inspired piece?
